Experience the Thrill: Kayaking the Wild Vilnelė

 We invite you to experience unforgettable moments while kayaking in Vilnius. This is one of our most popular routes—a 3 to 4-hour journey from the Rokantiškės (Naujoji Vilnia) dam all the way to the White Bridge. Note that there is one portage (carrying the kayak) at the Belmontas dam, or you can choose to start your trip from there.

 A trip down the Vilnelė guarantees an adrenaline rush for everyone. This route is considered one of the most challenging kayaking itineraries in Lithuania. Beyond the excitement, you’ll have a unique opportunity to admire the bohemian spirit of the Republic of Užupis, the Bernardinai Garden, and as you flow into the Neris, the stunning skyline of downtown Vilnius.

What you will see along the way:

• Stunning views of the Pavilniai Regional Park.
• The majestic Pūčkoriai Outcrop (65m high, 260m wide).
• The Belmontas Waterfalls and the historic St. Anne’s Church.
• The newly renovated Bernardinai Garden and the charming bridges of Užupis.
• Gediminas Hill and Tower, followed by the modern skyscrapers of the city center.
• You will also pass under the capital’s three most famous bridges: King Mindaugas, the Green Bridge, and the White Bridge.

 The „Golden Route”: Due to the fast current and numerous obstacles, this is often called the true „Golden Route.” If you think you’ll just be drifting and enjoying the scenery, think again! On this river, you can’t let go of your paddles. It is widely regarded as the most technical route, perfect for active leisure or even racing. It requires skill, patience, and teamwork—if you lose focus, there’s a high chance of tipping over! With plenty of fallen trees, large boulders, and rapids, make sure to bring a change of clothes and a great mood!

Important Recommendations: This route is recommended for experienced paddlers. Due to the swift current and many obstacles, we do not recommend it for complete beginners or young children. If this is your first time in a kayak, we highly suggest trying our other tours, such as the Neris or Vokė.
